A simple skeleton file could look like:

\documentclass{beamer}

\author{Till Tantau}
\date{\today}

\begin{document}

\section{Introduction}
\subsection{Overview of the Beamer Class}
\begin{frame}{Features of the Beamer Class}

Some Useful Frames

To add an outline at the beginning of each section, add this at the beginning of your file:

\AtBeginSection[]{
  \begin{frame}<beamer>
    \frametitle{Outline}
    \tableofcontents[currentsection]
  \end{frame}
}

Text

\begin{frame}{About}
Beamer is a LaTeX class for creating presentations
that are held using a projector, but it can also
be used to create transparency slides. Preparing
presentations with Beamer is different from preparing
them with WYSWYG programs like OpenOffice.org's
Impress, Apple's Keynote, or KOffice's KPresenter.
